At Wellvibes, we are committed to building an inclusive workplace where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives. As a company developing innovative health and wellness products, we recognize that diversity drives creativity, innovation, and better solutions for global health challenges.
Our own leadership reflects this ethos: co-founded by individuals from Welsh, Australian, Italian, and Swedish backgrounds, representing LGBTQ+ inclusion, international experience, and diverse family structures including single parenthood. We believe the perspectives that come from living different lives make us better at designing products for the real world.
Our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy outlines our roadmap to foster an equitable environment as we grow, ensuring we attract and retain talent from all backgrounds. We invite all team members, partners, and stakeholders to join us in this commitment.
Vision
To create a respectful, supportive, and innovative workplace that attracts, retains, and empowers a diverse team, reflecting the global communities we serve and driving excellence in health innovation.
Purpose
This strategy serves as a two-year plan to integrate diversity and inclusion into our core operations, aligning with our business goals of scaling health product concepts and expanding our impact. It provides a framework for action, accountability, and measurement, helping us build a culture of belonging while complying with relevant equality legislation in Ireland, the EU, and beyond (including the Employment Equality Acts 1998–2015, which protect against discrimination on grounds such as gender, family status, and sexual orientation). By prioritizing diversity, we aim to enhance team performance, foster innovation, and position Wellvibes as a leader in inclusive health tech.
Definitions
Diversity: Encompasses differences in gender, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, socioeconomic background, family status (including single parenthood), and more.
Inclusion: The practice of creating an environment where all individuals feel welcomed, respected, and able to fully participate and thrive.
Goals
1. Workforce Diversity: Recruit from a diverse pool of qualified candidates to broaden perspectives and enhance innovation in health product development.
2. Workplace Inclusion: Cultivate a culture of collaboration, flexibility, and fairness to enable all employees to reach their full potential and improve retention.
3. Sustainability and Accountability: Embed diversity and inclusion into policies, practices, and leadership to remove barriers and ensure long-term commitment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Founders and Leadership: Model inclusive behavior; address issues promptly; promote training and team involvement in D&I initiatives.
Everyone: Contribute to a culture that values diversity, and maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
Evaluation and Measurement
We will review progress quarterly through a combination of qualitative (e.g., feedback sessions, surveys) and quantitative metrics (e.g., diversity demographics, retention rates, inclusion scores). Reports will be shared with the team and, where appropriate, stakeholders. Adjustments will be made based on findings to ensure continuous improvement. Success will be benchmarked against industry standards and aligned with EU goals, such as gender balance initiatives and protections for family status.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
Wellvibes is dedicated to evolving this strategy as we grow. We welcome feedback and will communicate updates via our website and internal channels. By championing diversity and inclusion—including representation of varied family structures—we not only comply with best practices but also unlock greater potential for innovation in health solutions.
